Illustration Friday "GLAMOUR"
What says GLAMOUR more than women drinking wine with blue herons? Nothing. When I think of all that is glamorous, I think one: Blue Herons. Two: Evening Gowns. Three: Wine. Okay, so this week's theme at Illustration Friday IS "Glamour". And these images are also my submissions for a local winery's wine label competition where the theme is the Blue Heron- Native around this neck of the woods. So I cheated. So what. But will I win? THAT is the question. Probably not actually because also native to these here parts of the woods are watercolor artists. Which I am not. Obviously. These lovely (and glamorous!) women were done digitally. |

No Shadow For You
I like her Better than her Why you ask? (Okay. So you didn't ask. But I'm going to tell you.) And let me first premise this by stating that I have to bite. BITE. My tongue not to critique my own work. But let me just state that there is an art Roeper & Ebert knock-down going on inside my brain. No wait. Siskel and Ebert knock-down DRAG-Out fight inside my head. Siskel is telling me to just SHUT up. Ebert is saying "Doo0Aht. Just Doo-At". Why Ebert has an Italian/Brooklyn/Ben Stiller accent inside my head- I dunno. I just don't know. But in my own little warped brain he does. And well, because Siskel is dead . . . Ebert wins. And Imma tellin' ya what I donna like about dissa herrah paintin'. It is simply killing me that the red sofa gal doesn't have a shadow under the sofa. Because does anything scream "I need a shadow!" more than her? Really now. Give the woman some dignity and give her a damn shadow. But it's too late. She's been submitted to an art show and I can't do anything about it now. NO shadow for you! |

Illustration Friday "E is for . . . "
Equanimity This week's theme at Illustration Friday is "E is for . . . " Because it's Saturday morning and my children and Lula woke me up FAR TOO DAMN EARLY I am a bit cranky. So no explanations for you! No clevah comments! Nothing. Just a damn painting I did years ago of a cat looking at the moon titled Equanimity. (Did I mention that I wasn't a morning person?) |

Illustration Friday "Sea"
Every once in a while I do something stupid. (Shocking! I know!) One of them being that I accidentally deleted this image: So, a few months and many hours later, I have digitally reconstructed the image. (I still had the low resolution image with the copyrights all over it.) A special thanks to Illustration Friday for making me take the time to save her. Duh. But the good news is that she can be purchased as a print (without the copyrights over the image!) here. |

Back from the Holidays
My Holiday Vacation in a nutshell: Celebrated Xmas with the inlaws. (Was lovely. Am undeserving of all the nice gifts.) Went to Vegas for the Holidays. Met up with the entire family and had a lovely non-drama Xmas. (I have the BEST family in all the world.) Received many, many gifts that I am undeserving of. Did minimal day-after Christmas Sale shopping. Lost money. Lost more money. Laughed much. (Not because of money loss.) Went to Piano Bar at Harrah's. And then to The Hard Rock. Hungover. But went to day spa at Mandalay Bay courtesy of Liz. (Was vr vr decadent. I was vr vr undeserving.) Did nothing. (So vr vr lovely.) Ate. Slept. Packed up. Flew home. Took nap. Went out for New Year's in the most boring of cities in all the world. (Camano Island and Stanwood.) Hungover. Ate. Slept. Watched t.v. Did nothing. Thought of all the work that has to be done tomorrow- Which is actually today. (Posting in blog was not one of them.) Anxiety attack. |
