Illustration Friday "IMAGINE"
Imagine if you created a painting so many years ago that you saved it as a jpeg- Unknowingly compressing it to the point where it was a blurry mess. Of course this was many years ago. I know better than to save images of paintings (taken with a digital camera and not scanned, no less!) as jpegs. Meet the before: And after a few hours of tweaking to my liking: Can you see the difference? (You may need to click on the images to notice the changes.) She can also be purchased in ALL SIZES now at the www.shano-studio.com website at: (http://www.shano-studio.com/divawithchampagne.html) |

This one time . . . At Band Camp
Remember that one time . . . Okay. MANY times that I mentioned that I was going to use this blog as a way of keeping you informed on me and my art and not just stupid rambling crap? (Ha! You're so damn naive!) Well, my art is now at 22 Doors in Seattle - Capitol Hill Area to be exact. I was SUPPOSED to meet and greet on December 1st, but thanks to Mother Nature and her snow storm, I dropped off my paintings and prints and headed back to my little island without any shmoozing whatsoever. But the good news is that I plan to shmooze in the near future. But in the meantime, this new painting can be seen there. Meet Call From God: |
Illustration Friday "BLUE"
Blue? Illustration Friday wants Blue. I'll give them blue. I got BLUE up the kazoo (hey! I made a rhyme! I'm a poet and didn't know it.) So what better illo this week than my "Blues Woman"? It never ceases to amaze me how many people ask what ethnicity my divas are. Actually, they don't ask, they tell me what they think they are. "Oh, she must be Hawaiian." Or, "She's Billie Holiday, isn't she?" they ask. Or, "Did so and so inspire this painting?" For the record, I sit down and paint. What shows up and presents itself is as much as shock to me as the next person. My divas don't have ethnicities or names or histories. They just are. And we want to know more about them. They are those exotic women that you pass on the street or meet briefly and wonder about. Surely their lives are exciting and completely lacking of insecurities. They must have lots of money, glamorous jobs, and great sex. I know no more about them than you do. So think what you will . . . Just make sure it's good. |
